A to-do is a note that, once finished, you can mark as done. You can use Stikkit to keep track of your to-do lists in two ways:
- you can place single to-do items on separate stikkits (all of which appear together in the Stikkit [To-do list](http://www.stikkit.com/stik...) and
- you can create a self-contained to-do list on a stikkit, and have the title of the list appear as an item in the Stikkit To-do list (this comes in handy when you have a to do -- grocery shopping or a multi-step project, say -- that requires its own list).

We recommend you tag all of your to-do items with meaningful category names to keep related to-dos and lists together. For example, keep work-related to-dos separate from your home projects by tagging your to-dos as work or home.
To create a single to-do:New stikkit Create a new stikkit and begin typing. Stikkit identifies to-dos by watching for the word "todo" (also "to-do," "to_do," "do," "buy," "get," "remember," and a number of other common task-oriented words) at the beginning of a line, followed by a space.
Stikkit also understands the characters "-" (for to-dos that aren't yet done) and "+" (for to-dos that are done).
If you like, you can also include a relative or specific date and/or time the to-do is due. Dates and times also work by themselves.
Examples:- Pick up dry cleaning on 11/21/06
Buy flowers on Tuesday
+ Plant bulbs tomorrow afternoon
Remember to call Mary
When you're finished, click Save. Your to-do will automatically appear on your Stikkit To-do list. My to-do list
To create a to-do list on a stikkit:New stikkit Create a new stikkit, and in the first line, type the title of the to-do list (Grocery list for example). Press Return to move to a new line, and begin typing to-list items, each preceded by a "-" (for items not yet done) or a "+" (for items that are done).
Here's an example:Grocery list
- eggs
- milk
+ string cheese
- Frooty Tooty
- apples
When you're finished, click Save. You can now click each of the items in the list to mark them as done or undone inside the stikkit. The list title will appear on the Stikkit To-do list as a single item which you can check off when the entire task is done. My to-do list
To ask Stikkit to remind you about a to-do item, type "remind me" at the end of that to-do item's stikkit.
Example:- Buy flowers on Tuesday 9am remind me
Stikkit will send you an email reminder 15-30 minutes before the time you specify. If you ask to be reminded about an untimed to-do, Stikkit will send you an alert at 9am in your default timezone.
If, in addition to email, you'd like Stikkit to alert you with an SMS/text message to your mobile phone, tell Stikkit your mobile phone number and carrier.
